Samira Adnan
Head of ProgrammesSamira Adnan, from Kano State, began her media career in 2001 and joined Kano State Radio Corporation in 2002. A Mass Communications graduate from Bayero University (2008), she worked with Visafone Communications, hosting the Visafone Hour on Freedom Radio. Now Head of Programmes at Premier Radio, she has extensive experience as an O.A.P., newscaster, and presenter. Samira has also attended training on production, gender-sensitive reporting, and media management.

After focusing on business, I joined Premier Radio 102.7FM in 2021 as a broadcast journalist, rising to Deputy Programs Manager in 2024. I’m married with children.

Aminu Abdullahi Ibrahim
Senir News EditorAminu earned a diploma in ICT from Skynet Computer Institute in 2013 and holds multiple certificates, including in investigative reporting and radio production. He has worked as a reporter and presenter at Freedom Radio (2016–2020) and now serves as a publisher at Kano Focus and program presenter at Tarihi TV. Aminu also contributes to online media, teaches, and runs Kasba Nigeria Limited, specializing in trading and consultancy.
Hafsat Aliyu Buhari
EditorBorn on June 5, 1993, in Gama, Kano State, I earned a degree in Mass Communication from Bayero University Kano (2013–2017). During my NYSC at Aminci Radio (2018–2019), I worked as a reporter, translator, and caster and was later retained as staff until 2022. Since then, I have been a broadcast journalist at Premier Radio
Hafsat Bello Bahara
EditorHafsat Bello Bahara, a multimedia journalist with over five years of experience, holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano. She is a news and digital media editor at Premier Radio and has worked with organizations like NTA, ARTV, IFING MEDIA, and LEADERSHIP Newspaper.
An alumna of prestigious fellowships, including Baobab for Women’s Rights and ICIR’s Governance Fellowship, Hafsat is the only female from Kano to join WSCIJ’s MacArthur-funded investigative journalism program. She is dedicated to ethical reporting, governance reform, and mentoring aspiring journalists.
