Yakubu Liman, born in the early 1960s in Kofar Mata, is a seasoned journalist with over 20 years of experience in broadcast, print, and digital news.
He began his education at Magwan Primary School, attended Government Secondary School Kawaji, and later studied at the Institute of Mass Communication Technology (IMCT) in Jos. His passion for journalism and creative writing led him to take correspondence courses with The Writing School and Trans World-Tutorial College in London.
Yakubu interned at CTV 67 (now ARTV) and NTA Channel 7 (now Channel 10, old parade ground) in Abuja. Over the years, he has worked for Aminiya, Daily Trust, and the BBC World Service Abuja Bureau. He has also held creative roles with the Kano State History and Culture Bureau, BBC World Service Trust (now BBC Media Action), and Arewa 24.
His involvement in drama-led projects for USAID, DFID, and Equal Access International highlights his versatility.
Yakubu is a British Council-trained community theatre practitioner, and his contributions have significantly impacted community development and awareness through journalism and creative projects.
